He received his master's degree in endocrinology from Shanghai Institute of Endocrinology, Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine, and his doctor's degree from Peking Union Medical College and Peking Union Hospital.
He is also a member of the Standing Committee of Beijing Branch of Endocrinology, deputy Chairman of Male Science Branch, deputy leader of gonadology Group of Chinese Branch of Endocrinology, expert of CFDA Food Safety Risk Assessment Exchange Center, and editorial board member of Chinese Medical Journal, Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism.
In 2010, as an expert and spokesman of the Ministry of Health, he participated in the handling of the "milk powder - premature puberty" incident, and made contributions to resolving the national food public health crisis.
In 2011, he participated in the investigation and treatment of the "Taiwan food plasticizer" incident.
He has conducted a number of research projects including the National Natural Foundation, the National Rare Disease Innovation Fund and the 973 Project.
